Description Greg Carter is a native of Houston, Texas, a graduate of Texas A&M University, and has produced over feature 30 films. His media partners include AMC, Viacom/CBS, WE, eOne, Netflix, Lifetime, Warner Brothers and Amazon Prime Video. In addition to filmmaking, Greg is a President's Scholar and Professor of Film media at the University of Houston Valenti School of Communication and the McGowen College of Art. Greg studied under Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, Charles Gordone, and Academy Award-winning writer/producer Pamela Wallace. Greg also served on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Alternate Media Project. He is an inductee of the Texas Filmmakers Hall of Fame, an Independent Spirit Award Recipient and Sundance and SXSW film festival alum. He is an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences - Institutional Grant Awardee; 53rd NAACP Image Award Nominee for producing and writing the documentary short - “Club Matinee: Memory Builds The Monument. Greg's commercial clients include Toyota, Lexus, Infiniti and others. Greg’s recent films include The Christmas App which he wrote and produced, Hip Hop Family Christmas Wedding with producer Jaime Foxx, Monica, Lucky Girl, My B.F.F., and One Crazy Christmas. As a line producer, Greg also worked on feature films distributed by Lionsgate, Warner Brothers, and Netflix. The film, A Boy, A Girl, A Dream starring Megan Good and Omari Hardwick premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was distributed by Sony Pictures via Samuel Goldwyn Films. Greg was also a creator and showrunner for the ALLBLK television series, 5th Ward.
