## Public API

Assignment Desk provides a free public REST API that requires no authentication
for read operations. All responses return JSON with a { success, data, meta } envelope.

### Search Crew
`GET /api/public/crew?city=Chicago&role=Camera+Operator`
Returns paginated list of crew members. Filters: city, state, role, roles (comma-separated),
search (name), lat/lon/radius (geo), sort (best_match|name|rating|shoots|newest), page, limit.

### Get Crew Profile
`GET /api/public/crew/{slug}`
Full public profile: equipment, portfolio, rating, shoot count, clients, rate card, vehicles.
Contact info (email, phone) is never returned via this endpoint.

### Get Crew Rate Card
`GET /api/public/crew/{slug}/rates`
Public rate card (Enhanced/Elite tier members only). Returns crew day rates and equipment rates.

### Crew Directory Statistics
`GET /api/public/crew/stats`
Aggregate stats: total crew, top cities, top roles, average rating.

### Aggregate Day Rates
`GET /api/public/rates?role=Director+of+Photography&city=New+York`
Rate statistics from 36,000+ billing records. Min, max, avg, median, percentiles by role.

### Role-Specific Rates by City
`GET /api/public/rates/{role-slug}`
City-by-city rate breakdown (e.g., /api/public/rates/director-of-photography).

### Equipment Catalog
`GET /api/public/equipment?category=Camera&search=Sony`
Equipment items with crew owner counts. Filter by category or search by name.

### Equipment Categories
`GET /api/public/equipment/categories`
All equipment categories with item and owner counts.

### Client Portfolio
`GET /api/public/clients`
Enterprise and premium clients with shoot counts, industry, and logos.

### Platform Statistics
`GET /api/public/stats`
Total productions, crew assignments, network size, client companies.

### Open Crew Positions
`GET /api/gigs?position=Camera&location=Chicago`
Available gigs from active shoots. Filter by position and location.

### Submit Shoot Request
`POST /api/brief/onboard`
Create a production brief and book crew. Required: brief.contactName, brief.contactEmail.
Include location, date, crewPositions, and projectDescription for best results.
Body: { brief: { contactName, contactEmail, location, date, ... }, source: "form" }
