Hi, my name is Emerson Brown. I've spent the past seven years working across all aspects of production, starting as an editor, transitioning into a camera operator/editor, and now working as a Director of Photography for a wide range of clients—from The Volume, Silver Tribe, and Bleacher Report to Al Jazeera, ESPN, and TNT. This experience has allowed me to work on projects spanning both high-level broadcast standards and more creatively driven productions. My background with cameras began with the Canon C200, RED Komodo, and Lumix GH5, and I now primarily shoot on the Sony FX9 with a Sony FX3 as a secondary camera. I also operate with a full audio package, including a Sound Devices 633 field mixer. That said, I'm comfortable adapting to any gear provided to ensure the job gets done at the highest level. I approach every project as a collaborative process. With experience across a variety of shooting styles and production environments, I'm flexible in both creative direction and execution, aligning closely with each client's vision. Working in Los Angeles alongside some of the best in the industry has reinforced a simple mindset: get the job done—period. Originally from Michigan, I'm grateful for the opportunity with Assignment Desk to continue expanding my skill set and pushing my capabilities across a wide range of productions. It's given me the space to bring my own perspective to each project while staying fully aligned with client needs. No matter the scope or challenge, I'm ready to deliver.

I've worked with Sony the most, but I started off using Canon cameras. I like Sony since they're moving the full-frame world. I've used the Panasonic EVA, RED Raven, and Canon C line cameras. Sony just keeps me in with their performance. As far as lighting, I work with Nanlite the most. I'm familiar with the Arri SkyPanel, some Kino Flo's, and Aputure lights, but Nanlite and Litepanels are my main ecosystem. I've done various shoots from reality TV, live news, and interviews. I do have a favorite style of shoot which is documentary, I just love to be able to capture moments that we can look back at. My favorite project was documenting a land art exhibition with an artist named Emmanuel Massillion. I got to interact with amazing people, capture some awesome dirt bike content, and connect with other creatives in Atlanta.
